Dust and Mist Collection Case Studies

Real projects from Indiana, Northern Kentucky, and Southern Michigan facilities. Each case study covers the problem, the equipment selected, and the result.

These are not polished marketing stories. They are real situations from working shops and plants: airflow loss caused by the wrong filtration, undersized systems that were never reviewed as a whole, and fire protection equipment responding during an actual combustible dust incident. Each one walks through what was wrong, why it happened, and how the collector, fan, ductwork, filters, and safety components were matched to fix it.

If one of these situations looks like your facility, call 317-910-1497 or send us your details. We will tell you what we would check first.

Combustible Dust Fire Contained by Explosion Protection System

A fire on the factory floor was pulled into the dust collection system and ignited the collector. The abort gate, backdraft dampers, and fire protection components kept the fire from traveling back into the building.

Two AGET MISTKOP mist collectors installed downstream of an existing cyclone on an aluminum upcut saw system

Aluminum Upcut Saw Chip
and Mist Collection

An aluminum extrusion operation kept losing airflow because saw lubricant mist was blinding the filter socks downstream of the cyclone. Two AGET MISTKOP mist collectors solved the problem at the source.

Correcting an Undersized Cabinet Shop Dust Collection System

A growing cabinet shop had weak suction, clogged filters, and dust settling on finished work. Reviewing the collector, fan, ductwork, and tool list as one system corrected the airflow shortfall.

Collapsed Dust Collection Ductwork Replacement

An employee at a Northern Indiana woodworking facility heard what sounded like a giant boom when a section of HVAC-style duct collapsed under the dust collection system’s negative pressure. Collectors & Filters replaced the failed material with ductwork selected for industrial dust collection service, removing a major airflow restriction and addressing the cause of the failure.
